Frontier
Dual inverter UPS NOW FEATURES & HOT SYNC TECHNOLOGY
Paralleling for
redundancy and capacity increases availability for applications in the 8-100
kVA range
CROSS T.E.C
Frontier Dual inverter Division announced today that the latest uninterruptible
power system (UPS) in its single-phase product family, the Frontier Dual
Inverter, now can be configured for Paralleled solutions using its patented Frontier
Hot Sync¢ç technology. By utilizing Frontier Hot Sync, the Frontier
Dual Inverter provides maximum system reliability and availability for
applications in the 8-10 range (1 unit) & over model are two units, such as
the new technology of double conversion UPS (C.V.C.F)
Parallel
redundancy with UPSs has been used for years as a way
of delivering higher levels of reliability. If one UPS module must go offline
for any reason, there is another UPS to assume the load. In parallel capacity
systems, additional modules can be added to increase overall system capacity,
allowing a seamless growth path as needs change.
Frontier Dual
Inverter Hot Sync is a patented, firmware-based paralleling N+1 technique that
has been installed with Frontier Dual Inverter UPS in mission-critical
applications around the world. By using a mathematical, not mechanical,
approach to paralleling, Frontier Dual Inverter Hot Sync addresses the inherent
drawbacks of traditional paralleling configurations as it eliminates the need
for communication wiring and added circuitry between the modules. Frontier Dual
Inverter Hot Sync also employs unique load share and selective tripping
methodology, providing a proven path to maximum reliability and system
availability. By bringing this technology to the Frontier Dual Inverter,
parallel redundant and parallel capacity solutions are now available in a
smaller, three-phase UPS solution.
¡°Frontier Dual
Inverter Hot Sync has been established as the premier paralleling solution in
the industry, the already high reliability of the Frontier Dual Inverter, our
customers know they will have the highest system availability possible.¡±
Frontier
Dual Inverter Hot Sync Benefits:
l Unlike other paralleling techniques, there
is no system-level single-point-of-failure.
l Capable of paralleling for both redundancy
and capacity, Frontier
Dual Inverter Hot Sync provides a flexible approach to system solutions.
l By using a peer configuration, as opposed
to a ¡°master-slave¡± configuration, Frontier Dual Inverter Hot Sync ensures that
each module is operating independently.
l No added circuitry or components are
required to be ¡°switched in¡± to operate in the unit N+1 parallel.
In addition to Frontier
Dual Inverter Hot Sync paralleling, the primary features and benefits of the Frontier
N+1 Redundant include:
Frontier Dual
Inverter Hot Sync will be available for the Frontier Power in January 2002. For
