This total
solution promises to change the way you look at the power protection of
computer room. Advances in enterprise computing and storage technologies are
demanding a change in enterprise power protection technology. Today¡¯s computer
room houses mission critical applications and databases running on WIN NT /
LINUX / Unix-based machines, Web server, and dozens to hundreds of consolidated
file and print servers. The reliability and availability of these machines
depends on technological advances such as RAID storage, server mirroring,
server clustering, and fail-over recovery. Despite these advances in storage
and processing availability, the mid-sized power protection industry has been
populated with only legacy UPS-centralized box-type UPS that create multiple
single points of failure.

Frontier
Power Dual Inverter Reliability by design
Frontier Power
Dual Inverter has set the standard for top-quality UPS design for more than 18
years. The Frontier Power Dual Inverter is the culmination of that legacy. By
engineering the Frontier Power Dual Inverter to significantly reduce
components, there are simply fewer parts to maintain or fail. We¡¯ve done this
by eliminating high-failure items, such as ribbon cables, replacing analog
circuits with digital ones and by building in redundancy on potential
single-points-of-failure. And in real-life dramas around the world, The
Frontier Power Dual Inverter has been unmatched in delivering top performance
when the moment was at hand.
Frontier Power
Dual Inverter Hot Sync¢ç the Apex of Availability
When the proven
reliability of the advanced design of the Frontier Power Dual Inverter is
further augmented by the ground breaking Frontier Hot Sync technology, a new
pinnacle of system availability is reached. Frontier Hot Sync technology
provides paralleling for N+1 modules for redundancy and/or capacity. Depend on
safety system-level.
When analyzing
the traditional, empirical ways of determining system availability through Mean
Time between Failure (MTTR) with Frontier Hot Sync technology, Frontier once
again sets a new standard of reliability.
The
Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync¢ç Solution
The next
generation of reliability in power solutions is Frontier Hot Sync technology.
Its unique digital design eliminates the system-level single point-of-failure
inherent in traditional parallel UPS system; the many vendors have struggled to
overcome. Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync technology, available only from
Frontier Power, enables two (or more) UPS modules to work in parallel (in
complete synchronization) with only the power wires connecting them. No
inter-module communications are required to keep the modules on-line. This
wireless design means that while the modules are in sync, they are functioning
independently of each other. Consequently there is no system-level
single-point-of failure.
The development
of Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync technology is the culmination of Frontier¡¯s
expertise, the availability of high-speed digital processors, the development
of component technology, and the creation of enabling software. With all of the
technological elements falling neatly into place, Frontier Power Dual Inverter
Hot Sync technology is ushering in a new era in critical system reliability.
This unique
technology enables both parallel for redundancy and parallel for
capacity/redundancy configurations. The flexibility and reliability of Frontier
Hot Sync technology is unmatched.

Automatic
Load Transfer
In an optimum hot
stand by redundant parallel configuration, the UPS modules must safety and
reliability. When the critical load is the modules, there is no transfer time
in shifting the load from one module to the other should a module fail. This
critical element of paralleling is at the core of the dramatically enhanced
reliability of hot stand by systems.
In a traditional
UPS configuration, load sharing required copper wire of fiber optics-based
communications between the modules, which in turn created a single point-of-failure.
If any part of the communication link failed, so did the system. Frontier Hot
Sync technology eliminates the necessity for inter-module communications (Hot
stand by), providing true wireless paralleling for the first time, thereby
eliminating the system-level single-point-of-failure.
The load transfer
control algorithms maintain synchronization and load balance by static (SCR)
switch constantly making minute adjustments to variations in the output power
requirements. The modules conform to demand and do not fight each other for the
load. Each module monitors its own output display and makes minute output power
corrections thousands of times per second. In this manner, each module need
only look at its own output power to remain phase-locked to the critical bus.
This approach is
unique to Frontier Power Dual Inverter, and is available only with patented
Frontier 1000/2000 series UPS (Normally Load transfer 10 KVA). Such precise
load-share control is only possible because the Frontier modules deploy a
digital signal processing technique known as direct digital synthesis to
control inverter frequency. This hot stand by paralleling technique is so
stable that one module can even operate in parallel with and actually share
load with, utility power. No other UPS manufacturer has a parallel redundant
UPS system with this capability.
Critical loads
protected by a Frontier Power solution using Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot
Sync technology have a higher percentage of availability because automatic load
transfer never leaves critical systems vulnerable.
Selective
Transfer
In addition to
enabling precise load-transfer, Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync
technology enables a module to employ a unique selective main and reserve
system approach. That is, each module need only look at itself to see if it has
failed. By not relying on communication links between the modules, there are no
time lapses between the time a failure occurs and the time the module is
removed from the critical bus. This is an absolute necessity for delivering the
highest level of reliability.

Since each module
in a Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync system monitors itself for a
failure, a faulty module will automatically isolate itself from the critical
bus. This approach is unique to Frontier Power and is available only with the
patented Frontier Power Dual Inverter series UPS. In contrast, a faulty module
in a conventional hot-sync parallel redundant system is identified by the
system bypass. Though most module failures are benign, a failed inverter IGBT
may appear as a fault on the critical bus. For this type of failure, it is
essential that the failure be quickly identified and the failed module be
removed from the critical bus.
With Frontier Power
Dual Inverter Hot Sync wireless selective tripping, there are no inter-module
communications required to perform this function, eliminating the
single-point-of-failure found in conventional hot sync parallel redundant
systems.
Advanced
IGBT/PWM C.V.C.F technology
When Frontier
introduced the Frontier Power Dual Inverter series of UPS, it revolutionized
the industry by being the first company to integrate Isolated Gate Bi-Polar
Transistors (IGBT) into a UPS solution, providing more pristine output power and
thereby increasing system availability. Frontier has taken this to the next
level, once again leading the industry by improving reliability through
innovative technology. Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync direct digital
synthesis utilizes an inverter with rapid-fire IGBT switching, (up to 4500 Hz)
further enhancing system reliability with pulse-width modulation performance
and C.V.C.F (Constant Voltage Constant Frequency). This advanced enabling
technology is fundamental to Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync technology
and is what separates Frontier from other vendors.
Parallel
for Redundancy
Frontier Power
Dual Inverter Hot Sync – Redundant: A parallel redundant UPS solution increases
reliability and maximizes availability. If you have any type of failure in any
module, the critical load is still protected. Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot
Sync – Redundant goes further by adding redundant by-pass sources, eliminating
critical communication wires, and utilizing single unit inputs (Galvanic
Isolation transformer) the modules are only tied together at their outputs.
Because the modules monitor themselves for failure, a Frontier Power Dual
Inverter Hot Sync – Redundant system ensures the critical bus remains supported
on conditioned power even if one of the modules fails.
A common bypass
input source allows the modules in a Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync –
Redundant system to synchronize their output even when one or both of the
parallel cabinet MOBs are open for maintenance. This
configuration allows the Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync Redundant system
to be fully maintained, without the need for another around maintenance bypass.
In fact, if a wrap around maintenance bypass is added to the system, it will
actually reduce system level reliability. The common bypass input enables a
high level of maintenance accessibility while the critical load remains on
conditioned and protected power. The elimination of the need for and external
maintenance bypass also results in a lower total system cost.
Hot
sync Redundant Parallel for Capacity & Redundancy
Frontier Power
Dual Inverter Hot Sync – Capacity: The growth of banking data centers,
telecommunication switching centers, and other important, centralized computing
operations has created a unique challenge for UPS. With these mission-critical
systems comes the need for an extremely large power solution, one in which a
single module can¡¯t meet the capacity required for the entire system. Frontier
Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync – Capacity ensures these critical systems are
always protected.
Frontier Hot Sync
– Capacity allows up to mail and reserve modules to operate in parallel for
redundancy and/or capacity.
The Frontier
Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync – Capacity configuration has all of the technology
benefits of Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync – Redundant, including
selective tripping, automatic load transfer (reserve system) and
synchronization, but adds capacity beyond a single module. Frontier Power Dual
Inverter Hot Sync – Capacity systems have the built-in intelligence that
enables them to automatically recognize the customer¡¯s need for capacity and/or
redundancy, allowing for N+1, N+2(It is 12kva capacity over model are beside
two model but battery cabinet is 1 cabinet use ), or N+3 redundancy, depending
on the load. This advanced capability is necessary to maximize availability for
large load applications in data centers, server farms, ISPs, IDC and
facilities.
With CROSS T.E.C¡¯s patented Frontier Power Dual Inverter Hot Sync
technology you won¡¯t have to spend your time managing your fear of downtime
because you¡¯ll have the confidence to know that your business and customers are
supported 24 hours a day, seven day a week, 365 days a year.
